    What do I need to use Ibhar Wifi?

       

      To access WiFi in any of Ibhar hotspots you will need the following:

      A laptop with Wireless LAN capability. Some laptops have this built-in (e.g. Centrino™ laptops). Alternatively you will need a Wireless LAN “WiFi” PCMCIA or USB card that slots into the laptop.

      Any devices that are 802.11b and WiFi certified should work with Ibhar WiFi.

      To be able to use Ibhar WiFi, you need to ensure that your Wireless LAN “WiFi” software is configured to use a profile supporting connections to a public Wireless LAN.

    Can I send and receive emails using Ibhar WiFi?

       

      Through Ibhar WiFi you can have high-speed wireless access to the internet. This means that you can have access to both your POP3 internet account(s) (such as Hotmail, Yahoo etc) as well as your office email using a secure virtual link (Virtual Private Network (VPN) connection).

    Can I send and receive large files using Ibhar WiFi?

       

      Yes, as Wireless LAN “WiFi” is a technology that enables you to send and receive data at broadband speeds.

    How do I register for Ibhar WiFi?

       

      You can register with Ibhar WiFi by simply completing the three simple registration steps. Currently, this is  only possible while  you are in the Ibhar WiFi hotspot.

    My browser shows "Page cannot be displayed" though I'm within the range of hotspot. What should I do?

       

      Your home page may have been set to a private URL (e.g. your company intranet page). Please type in a public internet address such as www.omanmobile.om This should redirect you to Ibhar WiFi web page from where you will be able to connect to the Ibhar WiFi service.

      If this does not work, please check your browser settings, disable any proxy settings that are enabled, restart your browser and enter a public internet address.

    Can I leave a hotspot in the middle of a session then come back and connect
    using same session
    ?

       

      Yes you can, provided your session time has not yet expired. Leave the hotspot, then come back and open your browser again, you will still be able to continue with your connection (just by re-logging) until your session is due to expire.
