Omantel ‘Colour Their World’initiative brings cheer to children at the Royal Hospital

After the huge success of last year’s edition, Omantel, the premier provider of integrated telecommunications services in the Sultanate, has once again managed to put a smile on the faces of children through ‘colour their world’ initiative which aimed at engaging with young children in the Royal Hospital of Oman. With participation of a group of Omani Artists supervised by Yousif Al Nahwi, this humanitarian initiative from Omantel reinforces its core values and corporate social responsibility.

Omantel’s ‘Colour Their World’ initiative gave volunteers an opportunity to take part in painting the walls of the Pediatric Clinic at the Royal Hospital and therefore bring a smile to the faces of the young children being treated in the Hospital.

Laila Al Wahaibi, Manager of Corporate Social Responsibility at Omantel said: “We are pleased to spread cheer among children in hospitals. Traditionally, hospitals are perceived to be serious places, so we thought we would enliven the surroundings of patients in the children’s ward with a bit of colour. This is also part of our strategy to instill the spirit of giving among our employees, where they participated by donating gifts that were distributed to the children. Omantel is dedicated to giving back to society through ongoing community outreach programmes.”

Omantel’s social investments are focused on high-impact areas such as digital inclusion, environment, youth empowerment, talent development and encouraging entrepreneurship. The company believes that these key areas will be instrumental in the Sultanate realising its long term ambitions.

The company also leverages its corporate resources and expertise to provide programmes that support the youth, thereby accelerating their personal and professional skills and preparing them to take up challenging careers in the future. Its highly targeted CSR programmes recognise the underlying socio-economic issues in the Sultanate and their impact across industry verticals – especially as it moves into a digital era.
