Omantel launches “Makasib” contest for Muscat Festival 2014

In order to enhance its participation as the main sponsor of Muscat Festival 2014, Omantel - the leading company in providing innovative communication solutions in the Sultanate - has announced of launching a daily contest of the loyalty program “Makasib” during Muscat Festival 2014. Customers can participate in the competition by sending the text (M) to the short code number 80588.

Commenting on Makaseb contest Usama Ahmed Al Rawas Manager Loyalty and communication at Consumer Unit said: “Makasib program enables our customers to identify the benefits that they can gain from subscribing to our services and add more value to our customers’experience. Muscat Festival is considered as one of the biggest events in the Sultanate’s which attracts many visitors all over the Sultanate. Therefore this contest was made in a purpose to add a new experience to Omantel customers as well as the festival visitors. In addition to add more value and enhance customer experience by offering the opportunity to benefit from a diverse range of rewards and benefits through earning points with usage of any Omantel mobile, fixed line, and internet services.”

“Makasib contest allows 10 participants per day to win 5000 points by answering a daily question about the loyalty program. Costumer can participate in the contest by sending (M) as a text message to 80588 and answer the question which will give the chance of entering the ruffle draw and earn the points.” He further added.

“A special corner at our festival outlets in Amerat and Naseem parks have been set up to provide the public with more information about Makasib Loyalty program” Usama Al Rawas concluded.

The rewarding loyalty initiative' the Makasib' program was launched last November in line with the company’s strategy to enhance customer experience by offering customers the opportunity to benefit from a diverse range of rewards and benefits through earning points with usage of any Omantel mobile, fixed line, and internet services. How to enjoy Makasib ….

All Omantel costumers are invited to join Makasib by dialing the short code *224# and following the simple instructions or sending an SMS with the word “Makasib” or “M” to 91224 . After registration, customers will start earning Makasib and Status points for every 100 Baisa they spend on any Omantel service. The status points, which are valid for one year, determine the membership status: Sliver, Gold, or Platinum. Upon joining the program, customers will be automatically enrolled to Silver Status and will start earning one Makasib and one Status point for every 100 Baisa they spend. Once a customer has accumulated 3,000 Status points, the customer will be upgraded to Gold. Here, the customers will receive 50% bonus Makasib points for every 100 Baisa they spend. When a customer has collected 12,000 Status points, the customer membership will be upgraded to Platinum and will start receiving 100% bonus Makasib points for every 100 Baisa they spend.
